Is Katie Couric trying to compete with Barbara Walters and her Oscar Special? Just as Walters always has a special on every year with her interviewing Oscar nominees, Couric is doing the same with Grammy nominees. We also have round two of the Hollywood auditions of American Idol. It’s so good to be able to return to the longer Hollywood process again.

1. Freedom Writers. Hilary Swank stars as an idealistic teacher that is saddled with teaching a class of troubled students, and unlike the rest of the world, she refuses to give up on them. Read more . 9:35 AM Showtime 2 West

2. The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Lock up your daughters. Dylan and Cole Sprouse, aka Zach and Cody, are Ellen’s guests, along with Penelope Cruz. Syndicated, check local listings.

3. Reign Over Me. Adam Sandler like you haven’t seen him before as a widower who struggles to go on with life after his family dies in an airplane on 9/11. Check out more of this story here .  1:20 PM CT Starz 5

4. Knight Rider. Mike gets in with an underground fight club to solve the mysterious death of a hard-nosed drill sergeant. 7:00 PM CT NBC

5. American Idol. It’s the Hollywood Round, part two. Tonight we get to hear the group auditions, and they’re always more telling than the contestants figure they’re going to be. 7:00 PM CT Fox

6. Aladdin. This movie came in at number two on my list of Disney movies I could watch over and over. I love the classic story and the music, but we all know what makes the film is Robin Williams.

7. Katie Couric: “All Access” Grammy Special. Couric interviews past and present Grammy nominees Justin Timberlake, Lil Wayne, Katy Perry, and Taylor Swift. Also appearing are the Jonas Brothers, Carrie Underwood, Metallica, Ne-Yo, John Legend, Rascal Flatts, Duffy, Adele, Kid Rock, Jazmine Sullivan, Jordin Sparks, and T-Pain. 8:00 PM CT CBS

8. Life. Crews and Reese look into the shooting of a retired NASA pilot, with a suspect list that includes the pilot’s son and business partner. They discover the pilot had planned to pay millions for a trip to space with the Russians. Tidwell wants to spark Crews’ memory of his shooter. 8:00 PM CT NBC

9. Lost. Kate realizes someone knows the identity of Aaron’s parents. Dramatic shifts through time place the remaining survivors in extreme danger on the island. 8:00 PM CT ABC

10. Lie to Me. It’s another crime involving a NASA pilot. In this one he’s accused of intentionally crashing a plane. A federal judge’s teen daughter is murdered, and it leads the Lightman Group to her competitive prep school. 8:00 PM CT Fox

11. Law & Order. An NYPD officer is left dead after a hostage situation, and the investigation after turns up a man who may or may not be the illegitimate son of a famous president. Think the president is Clinton? 9:00 PM CT NBC

12. Life On Mars. A series of decapitations is investigated, and the shady brother of Ray may be involved, yet there are also connections to a biker, a Wall Street executive, and a man who is badly disfigured. 9:02 PM CT ABC
