Whats Hot On TV

It’s that time of year again, when we start having the glut of awards shows. The People’s Choice Awards kicking us off tonight is always one of my favorites, since it’s us picking the winners. Not that I always agree, but I can appreciate the choices more. Other than that there seems to be no rhyme or reason to the programming options tonight. CBS is running reruns, other than the awards, ABC is running a repeat of the Scrubs episodes that were just on last night, but showing other new programming, and Fox is following their lead repeating 90210 from last night, yet debuting a new show, 24 - Fear Is Real. Fox seems to still be taking the week off until American Idol starts.

1. High Fidelity. This is a great movie for when you’re not having a good day and don’t want anything to change your mood. John Cusack stars as the owner of a vintage record store who goes through a breakup, prompting him to run through a list of his top five breakups. 11:45 AM CT Starz 6

2. The Devil Wears Prada. A novice writer ends up in a job as an assistant at a fashion magazine and finds it quite the challenging job. Stars Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep, and is directed by David Frankel who also directed many Sex and the City episodes. 6:30 PM CT FX

3. Knight Rider. Vanessa Williams stars as a foreign ambassador in the clutches of a crazy terrorist. Mike and KITT work to save her. Sarah and Dr. Graiman work on repairing a broken robot. 7:00 PM CT NBC

4. 24 - Fear Is Real. It sounds like an updated version of Fear Factor. It’s a reality show for the horror-minded as it abandons thirteen contestants in the Louisiana Bayou forcing them into challenges that are designed to scare. Tonight two contestants are buried alive. 7:00 PM CT CW

5. People’s Choice Awards. Queen Latifah plays host in the awards show where we pick the winners. Carrie Underwood and Rascal Flatts perform. 8:00 PM CT CBS

6. 20/20. A young woman of 23 was last seen arguing with her boyfriend in 2003, and Elizabeth Vargas checks in tonight with her mother who is still searching for her. 8:00 PM CT ABC

7. Law & Order. The investigation into the murder of two divorce lawyers turns up evidence of abuse and neglect in children that were adopted from Haiti. 9:00 PM CT NBC

8. Barbara Walters Special. Walters checks in with and interviews Patrick Swayze and his wife as they surely discus his recent cancer diagnosis as well as his upcoming series, The Beast. 9:00 PM CT ABC

9. The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. Jay’s guests include Anne Hathaway who is on promoting Bride Wars which opens Friday, Brady Barr, and Jeff Dunham. 10:35 PM CT NBC
