Is it wrong that I’m salivating at the return of my reality TV? Sure, I’ve enjoyed the last couple of weeks off, but it’s coming back, and I couldn’t be more excited. Let’s take a look at what we have coming up.

Perhaps one of the most talked about shows in the offseason has been The Bachelor. Jason Mesnick was allowed to get down on bent knee and propose to Deanna Pappas, only for her to deny him. She chose Jesse Csincsak instead, got engaged to him, then dumped him at the luggage counter at the airport. Jason’s female fans created a petition to have the single dad be the next Bachelor. It worked. Jason has even teased us in recent weeks telling us not only is he in love with the woman he chooses, they’re engaged. How often have we heard that before? How much will his young son feature in this? The Bachelor premieres Monday, January 5, at 7:00 PM CT on ABC.

Following The Bachelor will be a new reality show, the brainchild of Ashton Kutcher and Tyra Banks, True Beauty. The contestants will think they’re on the show to find the woman or man with the best outer beauty, but what they won’t know is they’ll also be judged behind the scenes for their inner beauty. They won’t find out the truth until after they’re kicked off. Vanesaa Minnillo will host, with Cheryl Tiegs and Nol Marin as judges. The winner will get cash and a spot in People Magazine’s 100 Most Beautiful People issue. True Beauty premieres Monday, January 5, at 9:00 PM CT on ABC.

Also beginning this Monday night will be Superstars of Dance, yet another dancing show. Hosted by Lord of the Dance Michael Flatley and Susie Castillo, the show will have the superstars of dance from all over the world competing against each other. A Nigel Lythgoe and Simon Fuller production, Iknow some are hyped up to see this one, but with The Bachelor on at the same time frame, I don’t know how well it will do. Superstars of Dance premieres Monday, January 5 at 7:00 PM CT on NBC.

It seems like the last group of Biggest Losers barely had time to gain back any of the amazing weight they lost on The Biggest Loser: Families, and now we have yet another season starting already. We’re back to “Couples” again, and guaranteed the “biggest” ever, as the contestants weigh a combined 3.5 tons starting out. We’ll have the oldest competing yet at 63 years old, the youngest male at 18, the heaviest female at 379, and the heaviest contestant ever at 454 pounds. It’s starting so soon, I don’t know if I’m ready to welcome a new cast, but it sounds like it could be doozy enough to draw us all in. The Biggest Losers: Couples premieres Tuesday, January 6 at 7:00 PM CT on NBC.

It’s so hard to have American Idol only on one season a year, but in some ways it only heightens the excitement when it comes back. This time we have some definite changes with less audition weeks, longer Hollywood weeks, a return of a wild card round, and a new fourth judge as well. Is it just me or does it almost seem like they’re jumping the shark a little with all these changes? No matter, as I’ll still be sitting here front and center watching and covering every single minute. It might take a bite out of my Biggest Losers viewing time, so the Losers might just have to wait a day or two, as American Idol just won’t be denied. American Idol premieres on Tuesday. January 13 at 7:00 PM CT on Fox.

I think we need an update on physics teacher Bob before the new season of Survivor starts. It’s never happened before that the winner of the show also got the special audience award of cash. Yet, he’s not my favorite winner ever. It was my most favorite season ever, so let’s see how this next season shapes up. Sometimes it can be a little bit of a letdown after one particuarly good season. Let’s hope not. Survivor premieres on Thursday, February 12 at 7:00 PM CT on CBS.

Even The Amazing Race will be back. Sometimes we seem to skip around with this show missing a season here and there, but we’ll be back for season 14 with host Phil Keoghan and a whole new set of teams racing around the world. Did everyone catch Phil on Million Dollar Password a few weeks back along with Julie Chen? He was cute as a button, just as he always is, and it only made me crave more Race, despite the fact season 13 had just wrapped up. The Amazing Race premieres on Sunday, February 15 at 7:00 PM CT on CBS.

Now I know these aren’t the only reality TV shows coming back or premiering, there are others. But there just isn’t enough time or space for all of them. These are the biggies. The ones that will have us clamoring to our TVs and DVRs in the following months.
