What’s Hot On TV Tonight - The Olympics?

I’m just as puzzled as you are, but for some reason NBC is thinking we’d like to see a reprise of the opening ceremony to the Olympics. I know there are people out there that missed it and were wishing to see it, but that was back in the summer, not now with sub-zero temperatures, wind chills, and falling snow. ABC then seems to be perpetuating it by airing the film Miracle about the 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team. At least that’s from a winter Olympics.
1. Spiderman 3. I’m not normally one of those that gets into super hero movies, but I really liked this one. Of course, Topher Grace and Thomas Hayden Church seemed to add a lot as new villains for Superman to fight. 11:00 PM CT Starz 1
2. My Best Friend’s Wedding. This is the movie that forced me to start liking Julia Roberts and realize she was a great actress. I still prefer her, though, in romantic comedies like this over dramas. This is also a great soundtrack.1:00 PM CT TNT
3. College Basketball: West Virginia at Ohio State. 3:00 PM CT CBS
4. Holiday Festival on Ice 2008. A figure skating exhibition with a Celtic theme coming from Halifax, Nova Scotia, it features Kurt Browning, Jeffery Buttle, Sale and Pelletier, Sasha Cohen, Dubreuil and Lauzon, Jennifer Robinson and Shawn Sawyer. 3:00 PM CT ABC
5. Christmas With the Stars. I’m not really getting why this is on two days after perhaps the biggest holiday of the year; however, it features Erik Estrada, Barbara Eden, Jeffrey Osborne, the Mandrell Sisters, Crystal Gayle, and Paul Sorvino. Do you think they could get any performers from the last two decades? 4:00 PM CT ABC
6. Olympics: Opening Ceremony. Yeah, you read that right. It’s an encore presentation of last summer’s opening ceremony in Beijing. The folks in programming must really be hard up for something to air. 7:00 PM CT NBC
7. Miracle. And keeping the Olympics theme, this is the true story of the 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team, starring Kurt Russell. 7:00 PM CT ABC
8. Failure to Launch. Romantic comedy starring Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew McConaughey. She’s hired by his parents to convince him to grow up and move out of the house. 7:00 PM CT TNT
9. The Longest Yard. Adam Sandler stars in this 2005 remake along with Chris Rock and Burt Reynolds, with the latter having also starred in the original. Sandler stars as the ex-pro quarterback that turns a bunch of prisoners into a football team. 8:00 PM CT CBS
10. America’s Most Wanted. Last week after airing 2008’s ten most wanted fugitives, the most wanted female was caught within hours of the show airing. Will they catch anyone this week? The featured fugitives include a man from Missippi that allegedly killed his mother, a man from Honduras wanted in the rape/murder of Philadelphia girl, and a murder/robbery suspect from Phoenix. 8:00 PM CT Fox
11. The Notebook. Both the book and movie are great. It’s just a wonderful story, one of those that leaves me absolutely sobbing. I like the way it unfolds for us the same as the story unfolds for the wife with Alzheimer’s. Stars James Garner, Gina Rowlands, Ryan Gosling, and Rachel McAdams. 8:00 PM CT ABC Family
12. An Inconvenient Truth. Al Gore’s award-winning documentary on global warming and what it all means to us. 11:00 PM CT Sci Fi Channel
