What’s Hot On TV Tonight - Christmas In Rockefeller Center

Published by laurabelle at 12:22 pm under Programming Edit This

christmas-tree-rockefeller-center.jpgIt’s time for the yearly lighting of the tree at Rockefeller Center in Manhattan. It always makes for a good celebration and some good entertainment, although they always look really cold to me. I wouldn’t want to sit there and perform in 30 degree weather. We also have Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer on tonight, and I can already hear Burl Ives singing Silver and Gold in the background. And if you’re not in the mood for holiday fare, we have a new reality show debuting tonight on Fox, Secret Millionaire.

1. The Ellen deGeneres Show. Brad Pitt alert. He’s Ellen’s guest today where he’s sure to talk about his famous family life, as well as his work in Ellen’s hometown of New Orleans. Keane guests as well, and Lisa Suatoni from the National Resources Defense Council discusses threats to our oceans. Syndicated, check local listings.

2. Tyra Banks. This is a continuation of sorts of The Biggest Loser: Families from last night. We saw a tidbit of the Losers on Tyra’s show last night, and today we can see the full monty. Syndicated, check local listings.

3. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. It’s the Christmas special that makes being a dentist and having a red shiny nose cool. Tell the truth. How many of you are singing the song right now? 7:00 PM CT CBS

4. Christmas In Rockefeller Center. It’s the annual lighting of the tree in Manhattan, with Al Roker and Jane Krakowski hosting. Performances by Beyoncé, Miley Cyrus, Tony Bennett, Jonas Brothers, Harry Connick, Jr., David Cook, Faith Hill, Rascal Flatts, and Solange Knowles. Also appearing are Rosie O’Donnell and Stephen Colbert. How’s that for a jam-packed show? 7:00 PM CT NBC5. Pushing Daisies. Ned and Olive have a comfort food competition which doesn’t sound quite as comforting after a chef is found dead. Emerson helps Chuck in coping with the consequences of actions. 7:00 PM CT ABC

6. Secret Millionaire. This show has millionaires living the lives of the less fortunate. They’ll be living and working for the minimum wage, searching for for deserving recipients of at least $100,000. Louisiana fast food entrepreneurs are featured tonight. 7:00 PM CT Fox

7. A Christmas Story. There is nothing not to like about this movie that quickly became classic holiday viewing. As of Thanksgiving, my sister has displayed her leg lamp in the living room window of their house proudly. Well, okay, my brother-in-aw displays it proudly. 7:00 PM CT TNT

8. Smokey and the Bandit. It’s the original one with Burt Reynolds, Jerry Reed, and Sally Field. I used to watch this tirelessly on HBO. Jerry Reed drives the illegal merchandise in the truck, and Burt Reynolds runs interference in his sports car with girlfriend Sally Field next to him. 7:00 PM CT Sleuth9. Grammy Nominations Concert Live! – Countdown to Music’s Biggest Night Interspersed between nominations for the Grammys, we have performances by Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, the Foo Fighters, B.B. King, John Mayer, and Taylor Swift. Swift also hosts, along with LL Cool J. 8:00 PM CT CBS

10. Life. During a turf war over a casino on an Indiana Reservation, a sheriff’s deputy is killed. Crew heads to a fundraiser that is sponsored by a man he thinks conspired against him. 8:00 PM CT NBC

11. Private Practice. Addison and Charlotte work to try and save the lives of a woman in a coma and her unborn child. Meg rubs people the run way when she starts seeing patients at Oceanside, and Violet needs Kevin’s advice after a patient is suspected in the death of his wife. 8:00 PM CT ABC

12. Stylista. Maggie Rizer has the contestants preparing hotel rooms according to her specifications. After, they design a multi-page layout, but the competition is upsetting to one of the contestants. 8:00 PM CT CW

13. Inside the NFL. My Chicago Bears certainly didn’t do too well last week, but plenty of other teams did. Check it all out here, and find out who’s playing next week. 8:00 PM CT Showtime East

14. Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Supermodels Heidi Klum, Alessandra Ambrosio, Selita Ebanks, Doutzen Kroes, Adriana Lima, Miranda Kerr, and Marisa Miller walk the runway showcasing the latest in lingerie. Usher performs. 9:00 PM CT CBS

Brian and Andrea bond, and Letitia wants Wrenn to leave her house after she realizes Tripp is growing fond of her. 9:00 PM CT ABC
