Published by laurabelle at 4:00 pm under Programming Edit This

grinch1.jpgIt has to be the Christmas season as we have the Grinch on twice tonight, both the cartoon, and the live version with Jim Carrey. It seems kind of early to me for this to be on, but I guess that means I need to get out there and start my shopping and decorating.

1. The Ellen deGeneres Show. Guests today include Dr. Drew Pinsky, who will hopefully shed light on what the heck is up with Gary Busey, a 9-year-old author, and David Cook. Syndicated, check local listings.

2. Firehouse Dog. This is such a cute movie about an actor dog that gets loose and winds up running the streets, found by a fire department chief’s son. No one knows he’s a big time star, and they don’t realize the reason behind all his awesome tricks, as he just seems so perfectly made for the business of fighting fires. Plus, he looks like one of my dogs. 5:30 PM CT HBO West

3. Chuck. Chuck tries to keep his mind off being betrayed by using his spy work as a coping mechanism. Casey discovers his mentor has become a rogue agent, and Awesome’s parents show up for a visit. The efficiency expert works to reestablish the “employee of the month” contest at Buy More. 7:00 PM CT NBC

4. Shrek the Halls. Shrek, Fiona, and the kids celebrate the holidays as a family, but it turns chaotic with visits from Donkey, Gingerbread Man, Puss n Boots and the others. 7:00 PM CT ABC

5. Gossip Girl. Chuck and Blair make a bet that they can find the perfect date for the other for the Snowflake Ball. Aaron’s ex begins liking Dan, and Jenny, Nate, and Vanessa wind up in a complicated mess. 7:00 PM CT CW

6. Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles. Cameron’s nightly activities are discovered, and a Terminator from the future arrives at the wrong time in history. Check in with Celebrity Today for a recap after the show. 7:00 PM CT Fox

7. How the Grinch Stole Christmas. This is the movie version with Jim Carrey, and it’s a good one, offbeat, but good. I like the original cartoon better, but this is still good. 7:00 PM CT ABC Family

8. How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Nothing fails to put me in the Christmas mood like the carton version of this story. There’s just something about all those little Whos standing in a circle holding hands around the Christmas tree singing “Welcome Christmas” that gets to me every time. 7:30 PM CT ABC

9. Heroes. In this conclusion of a two-parter, Elle and Sylar face an out-for-revenge Noah, the Haitian gets help for his brother from Peter and Nathan, and Ando, Sam, and Frack try to restore Hiro’s memory by using a comic book. 8:00 PM CT NBC

10. Samantha Who? Sam tries out being an environmentalist to impress boyfriend Owen who is a philanthropist. Andrea tries out with pro basketball player Tony Danes and hits a foul. 8:00 PM CT ABC

11. Privileged. Laurel goes to see an ex in Santa Barbara, and a few days later he returns the favor. Miles, though, realizes work and family will always come first for Laurel. Megan and Will face their first obstacle together when he announces he accepted a six-month job in Brazil. Megan stops Rose from cheating on her final, and Charlie thinks over the possibility of moving in with his girlfriend. 8:00 PM CT CW

12. Prison Break. Michael, Linc, Sara, Sacre, Mahone regroup, and Gen. Krantz takes control of of the company as he works to regain Scylla. T-Bag gets a new partner, and Michael and Linc meet with Sen. Conrad Dallow. 8:00 PM CT Fox
