Bachelor and Survivor Arrests - Notice the Similarities?
I just can’t look past this anymore. After I reported here earlier in the week that Ace Gordon from this season’s Survivor had been arrested, the news popped there had been another reality TV arrest. The perp is Mary Delgado, the winner of The Bachelor four years ago, the woman that won Byron Velvick’s heart. Thinking about these two, I just can’t stop noticing the similarities.
Both Ace and Mary are from Florida. While Ace was born in New York and later raised in London, Mary was born in Cuba and raised in Florida. Ace has held a myriad of jobs, such as selling Porsches and working as a massage therapist, and Mary has been an NFL cheerleader and then an angler, as she joined Byron on his tour.
Now, let’s look at their crimes. Ace assaulted a woman in at Sway Lounge in Naples, Florida, then was asked to leave, where he reached towards a deputy’s face in an “aggressive manner.” Mary was asked to leave Lorina’s Cantina in Del Rio, Texas and got very loud, saying it was her “constitutional right” to stay as long as she wanted, according to TMZ.
On the way to the police station, Ace was trying to get out of the arrest, telling them he was a famous person repeatedly. I understand the repetition, as he only has so many of his fifteen minutes left. Mary chose to kick the inside of the police car, damaging the radio, as this particular squad car had no cage. Apparently they weren’t aware of her previous crimes.
So what does this mean for these two? Ace’s next public flogging will assumably be at the Survivor: Gabon reunion Jeff Probst hosts. Will Ace show? Apparently he’s not the charmer he said he was in his Survivor bio. And what about Mary, BTW an excellent flick! There’s no word yet on if Byron is going to stick with her this time, as it was just a year ago that he was still pledging to marry her after she beat the crap out of him.
