What’s Hot On TV List - It’s the Price Is Right On Prime Time!

It’s not such a boring Friday night after all! We have Drew Carey bringing his Price Is Right game to primetime with some members of the armed forces, and we have not one, but two Supernannys. Also, we have The Wizard of Oz on not one, but two channels at the same time. It’s a few weeks early for the timing I remember from my childhood, but it only means one thing. Holiday specials are coming up soon. We’ll be seeing Jimmy Stewart and the Grinch (although not together) before you know it.
1. Live With Regis and Kelly. Quincy Jones and John Travolta are the guests. Travolta is on promoting Bolt, a movie in which he voices the main character, a dog. He’s played many different characters, but he just can’t hide the warmth of his personality away from the big screen. Syndicated, check local listings.
2. Ghost Whisperer. Despite having a personal crisis, Melinda reaches out to a teenage ghost as it begins to double her special gift. Check in with Celebrity Today later for a full recap. 7:00 PM CT CBS
3. Deal or No Deal. Did we get more people watching this again yet? Howie needs us! Tonight, the Pennsylvania teacher returns to finish her game, and an avid skateboard enthusiast plays for $2 million with some extra help from Tony Hawk. 7:00 PM CT NBC
4. Supernanny. Jo doesn’t have to travel far this time to help out a single mom from London with three kids, one of which curses at and kicks her. The mom, not Jo. Can you imagine if someone did that to JoJo? 7:00 PM CT ABC
5. Everybody Hates Chris. Chris sees a shooting outside a movie theater, but when a reward is offered for information about the crime, he’s hesitant to tell anyone what he saw, because he was supposed to be watching Drew and Tanya at the time. Julius and Rochelle see a Broadway musical for their anniversary, but the evening doesn’t go well. 7:00 PM CT CW
6. Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? It’s celebrity week again, as this time we have Deborah Norville and former basketball player Rick Fox. Since it took all hour for Gene Simmons to get to the $1 million question and quit (not that I disagreed with his decision), I’m guessing neither one of them makes it that close to the million. 7:00 PM CT Fox
7. The Wizard of Oz. I’m not sure why it’s on twice on two cable channels so similar I often get them mixed up, but regardless, it’s always good to see it. We used to see it on Thanksgiving, as I remember watching it with my cousins growing up, so I guess they’re having it on a few weeks early. I am constantly made fun of for it at home, but I admit to still being frightened by those flying monkeys.
8. The Game. Melanie gets her grant money revoked and is placed on academic probation, Tasha and Malik are stunned finding that her boyfriend and his wife used to be in a relationship with each other, and Kelly goes on a date, her first since her separation from Jeremy. 7:30 PM CT CW
9. Price Is Right Salutes the Troops. It’s a special nighttime version of the game show hosted by Drew Carey. They seem to be celebrating Veteran’s Day a few days late as members of the different branches of the armed services are contestants on the show. 8:00 PM CT CBS
10. Crusoe. When Crusoe thinks about stealing a boat from cannibals who had brought captives to the island, his conscience doesn’t want to let him. 8:00 PM CT NBC
11. Supernanny. It’s back for another hour, but without Jo. Mike Ruggles, a child therapist, deals with a California family with three daughters. The oldest is beginning to use an unhealthy disrespect towards her parents. 8:00 PM CT ABC
12. Don’t Forget the Lyrics. A Texas music teacher competes for the big prize, causing the appearance of Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, which could be his first non-basketball appearance on primetime since Dancing With the Stars. 8:00 PM CT Fox
13. NUMB3RS. Despite it being ruled accidental, Don and Charlie investigate the murder of a family friend who was a park ranger and former professional surfer. Their investigation turns up an additional crime. 9:00 PM CT CBS
14. Lipstick Jungle. Wendy and Nico take Victory to the spa to cheer her up when she is upset about the status of her love life. Much to their chagrin, the weekend doesn’t go as planned. 9:00 PM CT NBC
15. Barbara Walters. The transgender Oregon man who gave birth, Thomas Beatie, is interviewed by Walters. Included in the special is the legal and social ramifications of the softening of gender boundaries. 9:00 PM CT ABC
16. The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. Two superstars created by TV are Jay’s guests, Miley Cyrus and David Cook. This is the only appearance I’ve seen of Cook this week, but his runnerup, David Archuleta, has been all over the talk show circuit this week. 10:35 PM CT NBC
