What’s Hot On TV Tonight - Country Music and Murder

Published by laurabelle at 9:25 am under Programming Edit This

030508_underwood_300x400.jpgSurprisingly enough, these two items are not appearing together, but they do both appear separately tonight. It’s the night of the CMA Awards, and nearly every drama tonight features a murder. Let’s just hope we don’t see Tyra Banks murdered on the set of America’s Next Top Model, as that would make a great episode for a cop show.

1. My Dog Skip. This is the sweetest movie of a boy and his dog, although a warning needs to go out that there’s a few tough moments with the dog. When my son first watched it he was around 10 or 11 and was sobbing. It’s good life lessons, though. 10:30 AM CT HBO Family

2. Pretty In Pink.
It’s some type of karma type thing telling me I need to watch this movie today. I was just thinking about it while searching for good TV fare. Ducky had such great taste in music. 4:30 PM CT HBO2 West

3. New Adventures of Old Christine. After a great performance in a school play, Ritchie is recruited by a talent agent for a commercial, but Christine and Richard don’t agree on whether or not he should do it. 7:00 PM CT CBS

4. Knight Rider. When it’s revealed a politically connected criminal couple might reveal information relating to Knight Industries, Mike and Kitt set out to stop them. Check in with Celebrity Today for full coverage of this series. 7:00 PM CT NBC

5. 42nd Annual CMA Awards. Were these always primetime on the big networks? Tonight, our hosts are Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood. Do you think Carrie will bring new beau Travis Stork as her date? The performers will include the hosts, as well as Trace Adkins, Brooks and Dunn, Kenny Chesney and the Wailers, the Eagles, Alan Jackson, Kid Rock, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, George Strait, Sugarland, Keith Urban, and Taylor Swift. Now I know Taylor won’t be bringing a Jonas with her. 7:00 PM CT ABC

6. America’s Next Top Model. The aspiring models get tips on how to model with objects like fish and toilet paper, assumably not together, from Paulina. The models also invite some local guys over for game night. Yeehaw. 7:00 PM CT CW

7. Bones. A confidence game is played on a struggling inventor, leading the investigating team to believe it caused the death of the body found at the state police training site. Hodgkins and Clark Edison test out the inventor’s designs. Booth’s brother gets a job at the Pentagon, then develops a crush on Brennan. 7:00 PM CT Fox

8. Gary Unmarried. Gary finally agrees to take Vanessa on real date, but it doesn’t go well once she realizes the restaurant he takes her to is one that he and Allison went to often. 7:30 PM CT CBS

9. Criminal Minds.
Believing that it could be connected to his own childhood, Reid investigates the murder of a boy that happened years ago. 8:00 PM CT CBS

10. Life. Detectives work to solve the murder that happened on a busy shopping day at the mall, and while they look for the murderer, they lose the victim. Is this really wise to air a few weeks before Black Friday? Just asking. 8:00 PM CT NBC

11. Stylista. The contestants need to pick out an outfit for Anne who is going on a last minute trip, then break into teams to organize a photo shoot for designer Tory Burch, who happens to be a surprise guest judge. 8:00 PM CT CW

12. Inside the NFL. As a Bears fan, I don’t even want to know how they’re going to analyze this one. True, they were playing a really good team, but it still leaves me sighing. Kyle Orton can’t come back quick enough. Let’s hope there are still some playoff chances left when he makes his return. 8:00 PM CT Showtime East

13. CSI: NY. Investigators discover a “SecretU,” a group that reveals its deepest secrets, when working to solve a murder aboard a house being relocated via barge. Wow. What writer thought up that one? 9:00 PM CT CBS

14. Law & Order. Detectives seek help from a mentally-challenged man to solve the case of a body found in a park. Lots of murders happening tonight. 9:00 PM CT NBC

15. The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. Guests include a professional contest winner, Beck, and the always funny Steve Carell. He doesn’t have a movie out until 2009, so he must be promoting something coming up on The Office, not that that’s a bad thing. 10:35 PM CT NBC
