Whats Hot On TV

First off, I resisted all temptation to title this The Bachelor and the Bobby Soxer. Secondly, it’s not about the most recent Bachelor’s effort to find someone new after breaking up with his intended. We have the next season of The Bachelor starting on January 5 with a special two hour episode, and directly following this will be a one hour showing of a new reality series, True Beauty.

What I have to question, though, is the “coincidence” of this news coinciding with the news that the most recent Bachelorette broke up with her chosen man from the show. Deanna Pappas broke up with Jesse Csincsak, at the luggage counter of the airport yet, and it seemed to absolutely devastate him. We all knew there was no way that would last, but the way she did it seemed really cold. Now I have to question the timing. How can it be that it happens to coincide with the news of the date for the next Bachelor airing and the news of a new reality series looking for a true beauty, inside and out.

Clearly someone that breaks up with someone at the luggage counter is missing some tact, and who has to be enjoying the news the most, but the last guy she dumped in choosing Jesse, Jason Mesnick. He was the guy that seemed to only have family on his brain, looking for a mom to join his family and help raise his son. Deanna had a very unrealistic timeline for when she wanted to have her first child by, and connecting up with Jason would have certainly helped that out, but she chose Jesse the snowboarder instead.

So how coincidental can it be that while the last franchise romance fades out, the news of the last guy dumped happens to hit the airwaves as well? Doesn’t it sound like PR setting it all up? In addition, they’re also promoting another new reality show on the same night, True Beauty. This is the brainchild of Ashton Kutcher, who we know from his last two series loves to play pranks and conduct social experiments, and Tyra Banks. While the contestants all think they’re on a series looking for the most physically beautiful, they’re really searching for someone that is the most beautiful inside and out. Only after they are eliminated will contestants find out their disgusting behavior had as much to do with getting them voted out as their looks.

Clearly Deanna was one we thought was beautiful inside and out after she appeared in The Bachelor and was dumped very ceremoniously by Brad Womack. Our hearts poured out to her, until we saw her temper tantrums and odd dismissals of the guys vying for her attention. It was then we saw she didn’t have that beauty on the inside and out. The obvious next question is if Jason will find his own true beauty this time.
