What’s Hot On TV Tonight - Starting the Day Off With a Few Good Scares
I’ve been waiting for some good Halloween spooky movies all month, and I just wasn’t getting what I wanted. It just figures they wait until the last possible moment. I wanted some classics, and I found a few. Missing still is the original Halloween. I can’t even remember the last time I saw it. The polyester pants on Jamie Lee Curtis are truly frightening!
1. The Omen. It’s the original one, and the one that makes me nervous to go near any kid named Damien. This is definitely a classic. 8:00 AM CT Spike
2. The Exorcist. From one scary kid to the next. I wonder if this one would even seem as scary still, as much as we’ve made jokes about Linda Blair and the pea soup she’s splaying out as her head spins around. 12:30 PM CT Bravo
3. The Ellen deGeneres Show. Ellen always has something special in store for her Halloween episodes. Today her guest will be Wanda Sykes, which only seems to open up the comedy that much more. Syndicated, check local listings.
4. Poltergeist. By now you all know how much I love a good movie quote. And I just have to. “Carol Ann! Come into the light!” 6:30 PM CT ABC Family
5. Ghost Whisperer. How great is this? It’s Halloween and we have a new episode of Ghost Whisperer. Melinda investigates why the ghost of a high school athlete is following a family, as it isn’t her own. Get weekly recaps of this show and others at Celebrity Today . 7:00 PM CT CBS
6. Deal or No Deal. He’s just so warm, I can’t see Howie Mandel ever being scary. A working guy from New Jersey plays for the big bucks tonight. 7:00 PM CT NBC
7. Wife Swap. It should be a holier than thou woman swapping with a sorceress mom for Halloween, but instead we have a Rastafarian switching with a strict, goal-oriented mom. 7:00 PM CT ABC
8. Everybody Hates Chris. Chris helps the running back of the school’s football team, and his friends as well, with their homework so he can hang out with who he thinks are the cool kids. Julius gets a job picking up dead bodies at a funeral home. 7:00 PM CT CW
9. Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? I don’t know why this isn’t in repeat tonight, as 5th graders and their families should be out trick-or-treating. Miss America and a Boston Celtics fan compete. 7:00 PM CT Fox
10. The Game. Robin plans a wedding reception after the fact to gain more publicity for her marriage, and Tasha refuses to attend. She meets Rick’s over-protective mother for the first time, and it doesn’t go well. Penny Marshall guest stars. 7:30 PM CT CW
11. Crusoe. As Mutineers search for supplies around the island, it forces Crusoe and Friday to scare the group away, defending their property. Crusoe tries to strike a deal with the captain that would send him back to England. 8:00 PM CT NBC
12. Supernanny. A single mom is forced into raising her six kids alone after financial troubles end her marriage. Jo swoops in to help after the kids become hard to manage with all the changes in their lives. 8:00 PM CT ABC
13. Don’t Forget the Lyrics. Do you think the lyrics of The Monster Mash will be included in tonight’s episode? I was working in the lab late one night … 8:00 PM CT Fox
14. NUMB3RS. An employee of a shipping company helps out the investigation with his savant-like abilities after big-ticket items disappear from the company. When one of Don’s men is killed off-duty, he questions who he trusts and who he doesn’t. 9:00 PM CT CBS
15. Lipstick Jungle. I’m not even going to give you a quick summary here. I just like the title of the episode. “Chapter 13: The Lyin’, The Bitch, and the Wardrobe.” 9:00 PM CT NBC
16. 20/20. I’m going to avoid all attempts at Halloween humor here as I explain Sarah Plain is being interviewed tonight on the show. 9:00 PM CT ABC
