Whats Hot On TV

We start out the day with some fun movies to lead us into the weekend. We also oddly have two dramas airing at the same time, both about tracking elusive convicts. But the highlight here is Constantine Maroulis back on TV. He appears on Don’t Forget the Lyrics, playing for a charity. I still feel cheated by him leaving American Idol too early, but I think this’ll do.

 1. Weekend at Bernie’s. Let’s start out the weekend with some fun. I know I’ve highlighted this movie before on my What’s Hot lists, but I’ve watched it many, many times, and I laugh just as hard every time. 9:10 AM CT 5STarMax

2. Night at the Museum. This movie has a little bit of everything. Not only do we get the comedy of Ben Stiller, we also get nostalgia with Mickey Ronny and Dick Van Dyke, and some great history with actors such as Robin Williams and Owen Wilson as museum exhibits throughout history. Reportedly, they’re working on Night at the Museum 2. 1:00 PM CT HBO East

3. Ghost Whisperer. Trying to enjoy a romantic cruise with Jim, Melinda encounters an angry ghost haunting newlyweds. Celebrity Today has weekly coverage of this to keep up with it. Next Friday, Halloween, ought to be very interesting!. 7:00 PM CT CBS

4. Deal or No Deal. A woman from Minnesota plays the game and has the stakes raised with eight million dollar cases in the game. 7:00 PM CT NBC

5. Wife Swap. Could these pairings be any funnier? A Cajun swamp wife trades places with a ballet dancer in California. My parents are visiting New Orleans this week as well, but I swear my mom is not a ballet dancer. 7:00 PM CT ABC

6. Everybody Hates Chris. While he certainly doesn’t mean to, Chris gets his English teacher in hot water when he convinces her to let the class watch movies instead of read books. While his apartment is being repaired, Mr. Omar moves in with Chris’ family. 7:00 PM CT CW

7. Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? A 19 year old mayor tests his knowledge with elementary school questions. You’d think an enterprising guy like this would have this thing locked up, wouldn’t you? 7:00 PM CT Fox

8. Basic Instinct. I’m not a big horror flick person, but I love a good psychological thriller. This one has Michael Douglas as a detective who becomes involved with Sharon Stone, and while she has some odd behavior (my mother would have been whispering to her to keep her legs together) we can’t tell for sure whether she’s a murderer or not. 7:00 PM CT Sleuth

9. The Game. Derwin goes with Janay for a pregnancy exam, making Melanie jealous. Kelly and Jason can’t agree whether they should tell Brittany about their separation. 7:30 PM CT CW

10. The Ex List. Bella reconnects with an ex who had been an unfocused surfer dude, but has now matured greatly, creating goals for himself that reach beyond the beach. 8:00 PM CT CBS

11. Crusoe. While making repairs, Crusoe loses his wedding ring. Friday asks Crusoe for help returning a woman’s spirit to the sea. 8:00 PM CT NBC

12. Supernanny. Jo steps in to help when a family with five kids moves from New York to Georgia. There’s distrust between the 17 year old daughter and her dad, and the four younger siblings seem to always come and go as they please. 8:00 PM CT ABC.

13. Don’t Forget the Lyrics. American Idol finalist Constantine Maroulis, from a few seasons back, competes tonight, trying to raise money for the charity Broadway Cares. Personally, I’ll be watching for the eye candy. 8:00 PM CT Fox

14. NUMB3RS. Don joins with an F.B.I. agent as they go after an elusive con man who’s been on the loose for years. McGowan decides whether or not to grant Charlie security clearance. Henry Winkler guest stars. 9:00 PM CT CBS

15. Life. Oddly, this show has the same theme as the previous. Crews and Reese are tracking an escaped criminal after a Los Angeles earthquake which has injured Ted. 9:00 PM CT NBC

16. 20/20. Shaun Ellis, a British wolf-behavior expert, is profiled, along with his friend Helen Jeffs. The two are featured in the Animal Planet series Living With the Wolf Man. 9:00 PM CT ABC
