What’s Hot On TV Tonight - New Shows Return After One Week Hiatus

011.jpgThis Tuesday is an odd day for TV, just because it feels like we’re trying to get caught up. With some shows just premiering, but old and new, and some in their infancy, starting just a few weeks ago, they took a week off last week for the Presidential Debate. It makes you wonder if they’ll lose viewers that haven’t invested enough in them to wait and search for them.

1. Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story. As a martial artist, this is extremely interesting to me, and even appealed to me before I even thought about getting into martial arts. Bruce Lee is more ore less the be all end all of martial arts, yet for some reason I’ve never seen this. Consider it ready to be DVRed. 10:40 AM CT Encore 2

2. The Bonnie Hunt Show. Guests include Simon Baker from The Mentalist, JoAnna Garcia, Mark and Bill, the most recently eliminated from The Amazing Race, and Sea World animals. Well, they can’t have animals that need water on here, so it kind of limits the sea animals they can have, doesn’t it? Syndicated, check local listings.

3. NCIS. Gibbs is led back to his hometown after two Marines are murdered, and secrets from his past are discovered. 7:00 PM CT CBS

4. The Biggest Loser: Families. The Losers finally face a temptation on the ranch, after not having very many of them so far. One of the challenges lasts from sunrise to sunset of one day, and one of the Losers considers leaving the show. If it’s someone who is still in the game as a family, what will this do to his or her teammate? 7:00 PM CT NBC

5. Opportunity Knocks.  A blended family with nine children altogether from Long Island agrees to take on this game, and along with the money, the prizes up for grabs are a private tour of the new Yankees’ stadium, a Mediterranean cruise, a deluxe lawn mower, and Taylor Swift concert tickets. 7:00 PM CT ABC

6. House. House’s father dies, and he has to be talked into attending the funeral. He tries to diagnose  over the phone while he’s away a young Chinese-American adoptee who had collapsed back in China while searching for her birth parents. 7:00 PM CT Fox

7. MLB Playoff: Game 4: Rays at Red Sox. Tampa Bay leads Boston in the series 2-1. 7:00 PM CT TBS

8. The Mentalist. After the body of a young surfer washees up on a beach, Patrick manipulates her friends into telling him what happened. 8:00 PM CT CBS

9. Dancing With the Stars.
A fifth person is voted out, and this time it’s with a combination of votes from last week and this week, after Misty May-Treanor left the game with an injury. Rocco was on his way out last week before being saved by Misty, will he still leave? 8:00 PM CT ABC

10. Fringe. A man’s odd ability to harness electricity and the dangerous consequence that could occur attracts the team to his case. Dr. Bishop continues to use bizarre methods, as he uses homing pigeons to help them solve the case. 8:00 PM CT Fox

11. Without a Trace. While on his way to testify against his one-time business partner, a white collar criminal disappers. 9:00 PM CT CBS

12. Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
Stabler is shocked when searching for a trespasser and all the clues lead back to someone in his family, his daughter. Trying to save her, he seeks help from his extranged mother. 9:00 PM CT NBC

13. Eli Stone. This season premiere guest stars Sigourney Weaver and has Eli not able to see for six months after surgery to remove a brain aneurysm. His brother now seems to be experiencing hallucinations, and believes he knows where Jordan is after a crane accident. 9:00 PM CT ABC

14. Late Night With Conan O’Brien. Guests include Harry Connick, Jr., on promoting the timely TV movie Living Proof on Lifetime about a doctor that devotes his life to finding a cure for breast cancer, and Richard Lewis. Now there’s a blast from the past. What happened to that guy? He was so big twenty years ago, but I haven’t heard anything from him in I don’t know how long. 11:35 PM CT NBC
