What’s Hot On TV Tonight - Football, Baseball, and Drama

Published by laurabelle at 12:10 am under Programming Edit This

terence_sarah.jpgThat’s exactly what’s on TV tonight, football, baseball, and drama. You figure out where The Amazing Race falls. But last week it was quite clear with the melodramatic Terence forcing Sarah to put a bandaid over non-existent blood, then “blow it.” Forget him, I need to be put out of my misery.

1. NFL Football. Bears at Falcons. Chicago and Atlanta have matching records at 3-2, with Chicago leading the NFC North, but Atlanta is 2nd in the NFC South. I think it’s utterly impossible for me to bet against the Bears, even in their worst of seasons, and there’s been plenty of that lately, but aside from that, I still like them for the win today. They seem to be on a roll. 12:00 PM CT Fox

2. NFL Football. Packers at Seahawks. I always used to think it was kind of exciting when Coach Mike Holmgren would play against his old Green Bay team. But is it even the same now that Brett Favre has left as well? 3:15 PM CT Fox

3. Blues Brothers. Dan Akroyd and Jim Belushi on a “mission from God” get the band back together. From Chicago, this movie is always a big hit around here. 12:00 PM CT HBO Comedy

4. 60 Minutes. An FBI agent who was in tight with the Gambino family is interviewed. Also included is a piece on advanced weapons that operate far away from the battlefield, and a winemaking family is profiled. 6:00 PM CT CBS (time approx. after football)

5. America’s Funniest Home Videos. Medical students playing pranks on their instructors, a man that has his arm caught in the power window of a car, and a bird that won’t leave a person alone. We have the prank, the accident, the animal, no kids being “cute?” 6:00 PM CT ABC

6. In Harm’s Way. A South African family that rescues wild animals that are in danger, not endangered, different thing there, is featured. 6:00 PM CT CW

7. E.T. The Extra Terrestrial. I don’t know why, but I refused to watch this movie until recently. Everyone was saying it was so good, and I hadn’t seen it, and I didn’t see the use after missing out on it originally, but finally having seen it, I can say if you haven’t either, do. 6:00 PM CT HBO Family

8. The Amazing Race.
I don’t want to lose any more interesting Racers. I’d like to be spared further trauma of my own from having to watch Terence to continue to whine about non-existent bleeding, so if he were to leave, I’d be quite okay with it. 7:00 PM CT CBS (time approx. after football)

9. Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. With a Wisconsin home that’s falling apart, Ty comes in to save the day for a Teacher of the Year and her four kids. 7:00 PM CT ABC

10. Valentine. Grace leaves her affair with Ray when her husband returns home from the war. Ari, though, isn’t back for her; he’s back to get Danny to work for him instead of Grace.7:00 PM CT CW

11. MLB Playoff: Game 3: Phillies at Dodgers. Philadelphia is leading the series 2-0 at this point. 7:00 PM CT Fox (time approx. after football)

12. Sunday Night Football. Patriots at Chargers. This is a repeat of the AFC Championship game of last season, yet this time, the New England is 3-1 and San Diego 2-3. It’s not looking very likely that San Diego will get back there this year. We could see a lot of picks in this game as well, as  Matt Cassel has thrown three interceptions this year and Philip Rivers has thrown four. Defensively, the two teams combine for nine. 7:15 PM CT NBC

13. Cold Case. A woman who secretly supplied Freedom schools, teaching young blacks, was thought to have been involved in a hit-and-run in 1964, but new evidence suggests murder. 8:00 PM CT CBS (time approx. after football)

14. Desperate Housewives.
Danielle Van De Kamp is criticized when she returns to Wysteria Lane, Gaby and Susan’s kids fight, prompting them to as well, Tom and Dave form a garage band, and Katherine and Mrs. McCluskey invite Edie to lunch to get info out of her. 8:00 PM CT ABC

15. Easy Money. Brandy is tired of Mike’s money-making schemes, and he’s getting desperate trying to pay off his debts. Morgan now thinks he’s not biologically related to his family after Julia’s research. Dr. Bowers may be able to help. Peter Bogdanovich guest stars. 8:00 PM CT CW

16. The Unit. Young girls being trafficked as sex slaves are discovered by someone who is supposed to lead the team to a smuggler of nuclear weapons. 9:00 PM CT CBS (time approx. after football)

17. Brothers & Sisters. After Sarah and Saul deal with Holly’s actions, Kevin faces discrimination at work, and Justin finds a fellow soldier from Iraq that he once served with.
