What’s Hot On TV Tonight - A Night of Sports, Celebrities and Sickos
You may think with this title that the three are always connected, but in this they definitely are not. It’s honestly the best way to sum up our offerings on TV tonight. I do have to ask, though, at this point why we’re already faced with reruns on Saturday Night Live, as we have the first episode of the season with Michael Phelps hosting again. Is Tina Fey busy tonight?
1. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. I may have included this movie before in a What’s Hot On TV list, I’m not sure, but I think every time it’s on, it’s should be included. It’s a movie I never get bored with and one that never seems outdated. Everyone remembers someone like that from school, and while this is certainly exaggerated, it’s a guy that all the guys wanted to be, and all the girls wanted to be with. The teachers always idolized him as well. And seeing it always makes me want to break out in a chorus of Danke Schoen. 11:45 AM CT Cinemax East
2. NASCAR Racing: Sprint Cup In Concord, N.C. Taking place at Lowes Motor Speedway, last year Jeff Gordon won ending a dry spell for him, and earlier this year he took fourth on the same track. 6:25 PM CT ABC
3. Catch and Release. A pretty good romantic comedy starring Jennifer Garner as a woman who finds out her fiance isn’t who she thought he was … after he dies. She wasn’t the only one, as his friends that she ends up living with don’t seem to know everything about him either. 6:30 PM CT Encore East
4. College Football: LSU at Florida. While the Gators lead the all-time series, the Tigers won last year on two fourth down plays as well as a faked field goal. 7:00 PM CT CBS
5. Macy’s Passport Celebrity Catwalk Challenge. In celebration of Macy’s famous fashion show, Tori Spelling looks at the training a group of celebrities had to be runway models in their own version of Macy’s Passport. The celebrities strutting their stuff are Jerry Springer, Bob Harper, Jack Coleman, Nancy O’Dell, Kate Flannery, and Leyla Milani. This could be the funniest thing Jerry Springer has done since Dancing With the Stars. There are also some musical performances by The Pussycat Dolls, Fall Out Boy, Ne-Yo, and Jabbawockeez. 7:00 PM CT NBC
6. Cops. The cops from Broward County, FL, San Diego County, CA, and Rancho Cucamonga, CA follow gamblers, burglars and a cross dresser. Sometimes I think the only crime in Florida happens in Broward County as much as that department is featured on this show. A rerun of Cops follows this first run episode. 7:00 PM CT Fox
7. America’s Most Wanted. The search is on for an Indian immigrant living in Canada who allegedly killed his wife, a Tampa man who offered a mom $20 to have sex with her kids (ending the speculation that all Florida crime happens in Broward, and can I just add I’m thoroughly grossed out), a guy wanted for a date rape, and a jilted man from the Bronx who ran into a woman and her toddler with a car, killing the child. 8:00 PM CT Fox
8. Dirty Dancing. It’s kind of like a guilty pleasure. It’s also a nice reminder every once in awhile to never put Baby in the corner. 10:05 PM CT Encore 3
