What’s Hot On TV Tonight - The World Awaits Misty’s Decision
Mostly everything is new tonight with only Gossip Girl showing up as a repeat, prompting me to not include it. However, Privileged isn’t marked as a repeat, but the show description matches last week’s episode. I’m stumped. The big news tonight, though, will be if Misty May-Treanor dances on her hurt ankle or withdraws from Dancing With the Stars.
1. August Rush. An amazing movie about a little boy who has become separated from hisĀ musician parents who haven’t been together since he was conceived. He’s a musical prodigy, that knows that music will bring everyone back together again. Robin Williams is amazing in this. 8:00 AM CT HBO West
2. Oprah Winfrey. Author Kent Whitaker guests. He wrote a book about the murder of his son and wife that was committed by his other son. Lisa Ling interviews the son. It’s one of those things that just makes your eyes pop open first thing in the morning. Syndicated, check local listings.
3. The Bonnie Hunt Show. Lauren Graham, who’s just always funny in an odd way, and Bruce Jenner are the guests. I guess he has to appear somewhere since we won’t see him in the audience of Dancing With the Stars since Kim Kardashian was kicked off. Syndicated, check local listings.
4. The Eyes of Tammy Faye. I have always wanted to see this and have it on my DVR right now. For all the jokes made about her husband, her tears, and her makeup early on, she turned out to be a fascinatingly different person than we originally assumed. She was downright inspirational days before she died. 12:30 PM CT LOGO
5. The Ellen deGeneres Show. Julia Louis-Dreyfuss is on, and I know they’ll continue the bit of Ellen accidentally hitting her in the face with a rock. It doesn’t sound funny, but trust me it is. Maurice Green and Cheryl Burke from Dancing With the Stars are also on. Syndicated, check local listings.
6. The Big Bang Theory. Sheldon shows Penny all around online gaming, ending with a new addict. 7:00 PM CT CBS
7. Chuck. He goes undercover to retrieve an important device from the Black Widow. First he needs to learn seduction techniques from Roan Montgomery (John Larroquette). 7:00 PM CT NBC
8. Dancing With the Stars. The jive and Viennese Waltz are the dances, and as of this posting the future of Misty May-Treanor was still in question. See yesterday’s post for the details. 7:00 PM CT ABC
9. Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles. Derek and John are protecting a member of the resistance by going deep within a military academy. 7:00 PM CT Fox
10. How I Met Your Mother. Ted invites his friends to Stella’s apartment in New Jersey, trying to get them to see how living out there has its benefits, but it’s turned around on him when she says she wants to live out there still after they’re married. 7:30 PM CT CBS
11. Monday Night Football. Vikings at Saints. Being a Bears fan and playing Minnesota twice a year, it’s always surprising to me when they’re having a bad year. Right now they’re 1-3 and New Orleans is 2-2. The Vikings have won seven of the last eight meetings between these two teams, but that’s certainly looking questionable right now. 7:30 PM CT ESPN
12. Two and a Half Men. Charlie attempts cooking, Alan dates two women at the same time, and Jake tries beer for the first time. 8:00 PM CT CBS
13. Heroes. Peter uses dark power to prevent the future, Hiro and Ando continue to investigate who hired Daphne, Noah wants to get rid of his partner, Claire searches for a villain from her dad’s files, and Suresh becomes impulsive. 8:00 PM CT NBC
14. Privileged. This doesn’t say it’s a repeat, but it’s the one again about Megan finding an adult DVD in Rose’s book bag, and Rose admitting to not being a virgin. And that was supposed to be last week’s episode. Your guess is as good as mine what will be on tonight. 8:00 PM CT CW
15. Prison Break. Once the fifth card is tracked down in Las Vegas, Michael and Bellick are held at gunpoint in L.A. by T-Bag, who needs Michael to decipher a book. 8:00 PM CT Fox
16. Worst Week. This is the first comedy I’ve really liked in awhile. Tonight, Sam gets the help of a friend to fix Dick’s portrait, but it complicates matters when the friend falls for Chloe. 8:30 PM CT CBS
17. CSI: Miami. The daughter of Delko’s therapist, and that threatens to expose some of his secrets. 9:00 PM CT CBS
18. Life. A research scientist is found frozen to death, and all evidence points to an animal rights group. 9:00 PM CT NBC
19. Boston Legal. Denny is arrested for carrying a concealed weapon after he uses it to shoot a man that tried to rob him and Jerry. Alan finds a case gets too personal when he tries to help a sex surrogate in a custody battle. 9:00 PM CT ABC
20. Late Show With David Letterman. Russell Crowe, Sarah Vowell, and the Pretenders. I love the Pretenders, but I don’t know if I could ever appreciate them as much on TV as when she appeared on Friends singing Smelly Cat with Phoebe. 10:35 PM CT CBS
21. Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Seth Green makes an appearance, presumably promoting his part in Sex Drive as an Amish mechanic. The Smothers Brothers are on as well. 11:35 PM CT CBS
