What’s Hot On TV Tonight - Surviving the Vice Presidential Debate

97232_d0207.jpgThere’s no debating that tonight Vice Presidential Debate will definitely be held as planned, unlike the Presidential Debate that kicked off last weekend. No one can back out to help draft solutions to problems that won’t be utilized anyway. This is our big chance to really find out what Sarah Palin is made of. We can watch Survivor before that, as sometimes those tribes seem to be just as inept as the government.

1. Early Show. Melissa Etheridge makes an appearance promoting Pinktober, Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I think it’s great all these celebrities that have been touched by the disease support the causes bringing even more awareness. 7:00 AM CT CBS

2. The Money Pit. Everyone buying their first house should see this movie. Never mind, everyone buying any house should see this movie. No matter who you are and what house you have bought, you feel like this at one point. 8:10 AM CT Encore East

3. The Oprah Winfrey Show.
The cast of The Secret Life of Bees, including Dakota Fanning, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Hudson, and Queen Latifah, appears. This looks like a fascinating movie about a young girl in South Carolina in 1964 who escapes with her caregiver from her home that she shared with her abusive father after the death of her mother. Syndicated, check local listings.

4. The Ellen deGeneres Show. George Lopez is on as well as animal expert Jack Hanna. I love when Jack Hanna is on talk shows, especially when he’s on Ellen. The bit where he and Ellen are holding the huge snake together and it wraps around and grabs Ellen in the crotch is classic. Syndicated, check local listings.

5. Survivor: Gabon - Earth’s Last Eden. Surprisingly enough after a two hour premiere last week, we still don’t know who everyone is on the tribe that has won everything. The other tribe looked like that might finally be getting their act together, and they really need to now, or will be at a huge disadvantage, down three people. 7:00 PM CT CBS

6. My Name Is Earl. We have a double dose of this show until Kath & Kim premieres next week. In the first episode tonight, Joy is placed in a plastic bubble because of a flesh-eating toe infeciton, and in the second, Earl tries to fix his mistakes after stealing an RV once owned by a Green Beret. 7:00 PM CT NBC

7. Ugly Betty. Wilhelmina tries to talk Betty into becoming her assistant and Daniel faces a custody battle as he tries to keep his son in the U.S. 7:00 PM CT ABC

8. Smallville. Oliver gets sick at a charity benefit, and Clark and Chloe find their friend only has hours to live. 7:00 PM CT CW

9. Hole In the Wall. This show is nothing more than people trying to jump through holes in moving walls before they’re pushed into the water, but tonight sounds hilarious, as it’s the Flavor of Love Girls facing off against the Rock of Love girls. 7:00 PM CT Fox

10. Vice-Presidential Debate. Well, we’re in a real interesting predicament now. John McCain nearly backed out of the Presidential Debate last Friday because he wanted to work on this bailout bill, and here we are now with the House having rejected that, causing the biggest drop in the stock market in history. So, what do you think they’ll talk about tonight? Whatever they do discuss, you can be sure Tina Fey will be lampooning it as Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live this week. Scheduled to appear on ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox, and some cable networks as well, starting at 8:00 PM CT.

11. Supernatural. Dean goes back in time and meets his parents as they’re falling in love. Hmmm. Where have I see this before? Hmmm. 8:00 PM CT CW

12. The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. And here’s someone else with probably more than a few things to say about the current state of our country and the election - Dennis Miller. 10:35 PM CT NBC

13. Bicentennial Man. Charming movie starring Robin Williams about a robot that grasps the idea of emotions. He becomes just as much a part of a family he works for than anyone else. 9:00 PM CT Encore 2
