What’s Hot On TV Tonight - Reruns and a Little Mystery
And just what are they doing to us? After an amazing week of new programming on all the major networks every night, tonight is a bunch of repeats that we saw earlier in the week. There are a few new things on tonight, with college football, America’s Most Wanted, and 48 Hours Mystery. I think maybe somebody is telling me I really should go out tonight.
1. American Idol Rewind. Finally they’re moving onto a different season. They have a habit with Rewind of repeating the same episodes over and over and really stretching out what originally is a five month season. The good news is this year they plan to do season three and season four. This is the New York auditions of season three which includes the unique Scat Girl, along with John Stevens, the teenage crooner. Syndicated, check local listings.
2. A League of Their Own. I didn’t even realize until the end of the movie that it was based on a true story. It’s one of those that makes you laugh and cry. Having one and only one sister, the ending with the two sisters rips me to pieces every time. 2:30 PM CT Oxygen.
3. Knocked Up. This is just a great comedy no matter how you look at it with Seth Rogen and Katherine Heigl. It’s the worst thing that could come of a one night stand when she gets pregnant and they have absolutely nothing in common. 4:45 PM CT Cinemax East
4. College Football: Illinois at Penn State. Penn State looking for revenge after Illinois won big last year. 7:00 PM CT ABC
5. America’s Most Wanted. A man is wanted for arson that killed his roommate at an assisted living facility, as well as a woman that escaped an Indiana prison after being convicted of taking part in killing her roommates. Not a good time to be sharing space with someone apparently. 8:00 PM CT Fox
6. Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour. It came with a hefty price tag at the theatre, being $15 per, but here you get to see it for free, providing you have a subscription to Starz. And, thankfully, the 3-D part isn’t included in this showing of it, as it really didn’t add that much at all to the experience of the film. 7:00 PM CT Starz 4
7. 48 Hours Mystery. An interview with Shawn Hornbeck who was kidnapped at the age of 11, and found four years later as police searched for yet another boy that had disappeared. A man had been holding both of them against their will. This story is scary enough for anybody, but for a parent, it makes me want to lock my kids up and not let them out, both my 15 year old son and 12 year old daughter. 9:00 PM CT CBS
8. Cheaper By the Dozen. As you’re watching this movie with Bonnie Hunt and Steve Martin, don’t forget to enter the contest that expires tonight at midnight for a chance to win some Bonnie Hunt Show prizes, as well as the book Nights In Rodanthe. 9:10 PM CT TBS
9. Disturbia. Care to be a little scared tonight? This movie starring Shia LaBeouf is a good one for it. I watched it alone in the theatre and almost had to cuddle up to the couple next to me that I didn’t know. 10:00 PM CT Cinemax West
10. Saturday Night Live. Anna Faris, star of the movie The House Bunny, hosts, and Duff is the musical guest. They could do some really funny things with the theme of the The House Bunny, especially the aging Playboy bunny thing. 10:30 PM CT NBC
11. Remember the Titans. Get ready for Sunday football. I know what my husband will be watching tonight. He likes to watch this Denzel Washington movie on Saturday nights before coaching youth league football. Hayden Painttiere is just adorable as the little girl. 12:10 AM CT Starz
