What’s Hot On TV Tonight - ER Begins Its Swan Song
There’s quite a few things on tonight that we’ve been waiting for. For one, ER finally begins its swan song. I need to savor every single one of these episodes. For another, Survivor is back with a two hour season premiere. We just miss you when you’re not on, Probst.
1. Oprah Winfrey. Unusual dogs are on the show today, including the ugliest dog in the world. They don’t even have to be unique. Just dogs in general are enough to get my attention. Syndicated, check local listings.
2. The Holiday. This is just a great romantic comedy. You’d expect to see Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz, and Jude Law in a movie like this, but Jack Black? And the most surprising thing? He was completely charming here! 8:30 AM CT Encore 6
3. Rachel Ray. Jeff Probst, host of Survivor, season opener tonight, makes an appearance and puts soap stars through a challenge. Any excuse to see Probst is good, and this means we don’t have to wait until tonight. Syndicated, check local listings.
4. The Bonnie Hunt Show. Diane Lane and Richard Gere make an appearance together promoting their film that opens tomorrow, Nights In Rodanthe. They’ve been promoting this movie all over this week, but Bonnie’s show is the first where they appear together. Also appearing, Matt Grant from The Bachelor. I want to hear what he says about his breakup with Shayne and if he finally go that ring back or not. Check back in later today as What’s Hot On TV will be featuring a contest with a Bonnie Hunt/Nights In Rodanthe Prize Pack. Syndicated, check local listings.
5. The Ellen deGeneres Show. Eric Dane, aka Dr. McSteamy, from Gray’s Anatomy will be on. Also, Kid Rock performing All Summer Long, which I love, but am frustrated by since it’s not available on iTunes. Syndicated, check local listings.
6. Survivor: Gabon - Earth’s Last Eden. Finally, it starts. It’s a special two hour premiere of the seventeenth season with eighteen Survivors on board. As usual, it’s an interesting bunch. 7:00 PM CT CBS
7. My Name Is Earl. Another season premiere, Earl visits one of his earlier victims, who was once a dying child, but is now hoping to become a filmmaker. 7:00 PM CT NBC
8. Ugly Betty. In its third season opener, Betty makes a decision after proposals from both Gio and Henry. Lindsay Lohan guest stars as Betty’s high school nemesis, and Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa make appearances as themselves. 7:00 PM CT ABC
9. Smallville. Clark starts a new job at the Daily Planet, working with Lois on a story. 7:00 PM CT CW
10. Kitchen Nightmares. Chef Ramsay visits an Italian restaurant in New York that is $100,000 in debt, and it’s another time the owner gets upset at him. 7:00 PM CT Fox
11. My Name Is Earl. Another new episode, as Earl and Randy want to make peace with their childhood neighbors. 7:30 PM CT NBC
12. The Office. In this season opener, the staff begins a collective weight loss program and soon become obsessed with it. 8:00 PM CT NBC
13. Grey’s Anatomy. Another season opener, as Meredith and Derek second guess the renewal of their relationship. A military doctor arrives with a patient and catches Christina’s eye. 8:00 PM CT ABC
14. Supernatural. Sam and Dean are accused by the spirits of Meg and Agent Henricksen of failing them. Also, the brothers try to help a man that is haunted by the ghosts of children they couldn’t save. 8:00 PM CT CW
15. Kitchen Nightmares. Another episode tonight, and in this one, Chef Ramsay visits a seafood restaurant with three owners, which leads to a staff that gets really confused, as they all run the restaurant differently. 8:00 PM CT Fox
16. ER. They begin their swan song in this season opener. It’s the aftermath of the ambulance explosion, and they have a hard time dealing with Pratt’s injuries. Abby makes a mistake in diagnosing a mother and daughter from the blast. 9:00 PM CT NBC
17. Jimmy Kimmel Live. Rob Lowe is a guest. The guy never changes. He still looks like the young guy we all lusted after, some twenty to twenty-five years later. 12:05 AM CT ABC
