The Bachelor - How Many are Saying I Told You So?

Just over a week ago, ABC aired a Bachelor/Bachelorette special Where Are They Now thing, pimping Trista and Ryan for the umpteenth time, and showing us yet again how cute and special Matt Grant and Shayne Lamas are. They were more than happy to refute reports that he was only in it for the green card. It doesn’t matter how many times they trot those two out in front of us, as even the most romantic of us know it just wasn’t going to last. It was like Dom Perignon and Schlitz. They were just two different people from two different places.

News reports are now saying that they have indeed broken up. According to a statement, they are saying they “tried hard to make it work, but we realized that we were both heading in different directions.” They stress that they “truly care about each other and will remain close
friends.” Right.

We all know what this was. The was the case of Little Matt doing all his thinking. He said numerous times that he was attracted to Shayne and how sexy she was, but he also doubted the real reason she was there and was perplexed when he couldn’t get an intellectual conversation out of her. Yet, he chose her, when we all knew he should have picked Amanda. They had a better connection, but Little Matt wasn’t as fond of her as Big Matt.

11.jpgThere were many that also thought Deanna Pappas chose the wrong person in Jesse Csincsak, but she seemed to be so hurt by Brad Womack on The Bachelor, that she wanted to go as far away from her normal type of guy as possible. Somehow it seemed further and further into the season that she wasn’t so much looking for love but for a guy that would put her on a pedestal. While she would have had a much deeper relationship with any of the other guys in the final four, after all her talking, she chose the guy that even both their families seemed surprised about.

They’ve already announced they’re getting married in May 2009, but Mary and Byron did the same, and as so far, they’ve only had handcuffs adorning their hands instead of wedding bands. The romantic in me wants it to work finally for Deanna, but we all have our doubts, and after watching Matt and Shayne break up so quickly, it’s giving me more and more doubts.

    “I wish I could quit you”…

Still trolling around for info and articles on this past season’s Bachlorette… so thanks for fanning the flame.

I just don’t see Deanna and Jesse’s connection at all… but maybe that’s because what Deanna said she wanted and the editing tricked us into thinking she wanted was a real emotional connection.

I agree that she seemed to have this with the other 3 of the top 4… but no matter how much other posters see it, I just don’t see anything more than a big “like” with Jesse - nothing deep or emotional.

Wow! You hit the nail right on the head with both couples! Now I’m just waiting to see how long Jesse & DeAnna stay together (I don’t for one second they will ever say “I Do”).
