Burn Notice - Fire Closer Than Ever In Season 2
The second season of Burn Notice on USA starts off on July 10, and Michael Westen finds himself even deeper into it than ever. The same people that burned him in the first season are now blackmailing him to work for them. And while he works to figure out what they’re really after, he’s doing work for clients as well, putting his special ops talents to use.
The season opener has Michael getting a phone call from a mysterious woman directing him to help them with one of their business associates. What he finds through him, is that he’s a computer expert also being blackmailed to help them after his family was kidnapped. Michael works to help him, while also keeping this mysterious woman going by doing as little as he has to.
Jeffrey Donovan is joined in the series once again by Gabrielle Anwar playing his ex-girlfriend, Bruce Campbell playing a an agent who is keeping an eye on Michael for the government, and Sharon Gless of Cagney and Lacey playing Michael’s mom. If there is any reason to watch this show, it’s her, as even in a minor role, she still turns in stunning perfromances. She seems to want her son in her life really badly, but he seems to just barely tolerate her.
Burn Notice is a fast-paced show with heart-pounding action and a little dry comedy thrown in for good measure. On top of all of this, we get the mystery of working with Michael to find out who this mysterious woman is and who the bigger operation is behind her. With his needy mom and tough ex in his life, another woman is the last thing he needs.
