Big Brother 10 - What We Know So Far
I have to admit, I’m not exactly sitting here with bated breath. Usually, throughout all of June, I’m sitting here at CBS’ beck and call waiting for every little bone they toss our way, wanting to know what the upcoming season of Big Brother will be like. Yet, with the extra season we had this winter, it kind of tided me over, and until the last few weeks was so un-thrilling, it didn’t exactly leaving me hungry for more.
Yet, Big Brother is starting up again July 13th on CBS, whether we’re ready or not. We haven’t heard anything yet on who the new hamsters will be, but let’s just hope they won’t be a bunch of over-sexed people looking for hookups. One pool orgy a year is enough for me. Not that I’m a prude, I’ve just had my fill. Not until we got rid of the people that were just looking to get it on did we get to the real strategizing.
We won’t find out who the newbies will be for at least another week or so most likely. Usually the houseguests have been living in the house for a few days before we see the first episode, as CBS needs to gather up enough material. And aside from that, they also spend several days locked and sequestered in a hotel somewhere by the time CBS releases the info on The Early ShowBig Brother website detailing who they are. Please, no more ex-strippers, though. We’ve had our share, and I do believe Natalie broke the mold anyway. and the
I’ll admit, in my hunger for knowledge, I did venture over to cbs.com, and while I’m not salivating for information, I was reminiscent enough of past seasons to watch the entire last episode of last season’s House Calls. Gretchen Massey and her co-hosts, Bill “Bunky” Eagle, Kaysar Ridha, Daniele Donato, and Evel Dick Donato, signed off on season nine all appearing together, and just watching this episode, I was drawn in and wishing I could turn on my RealPlayer and catch some live feeds of season 10.
Seeing this Big Brother 10 commercial now airing on CBS, we know one thing … we’ll have thirteen hamsters this year. Can we hope this means no more pairs, ether from before entering the Big Brother house or created after entering? There has to be a twist this season; there always is. The question is just what will the catch be. Thankfully they aren’t offering us teasers in the promo above that just won’t pan out, such as when they led us to believe before last season that we’d have a whole season of dirty laundry airing and it just never really happened, unless you consider Natalie giving up oral sex as if it’s nothing to the cameras, but how could producers have known that would happen?
The only other tidbit of information out there regarding this upcoming season of Big Brother is found on tvtickets.com. According to this site, they’re offering tickets to be in the audience of the live evictions on season 10. This was done previously in season one. Instead of the newly evicted houseguest coming out and facing Julie Chen alone, they will now go back to facing a room full of Big Bother fans who are either cheering them or hurling insults. Someone like Alex last season would have gotten a great response sitting amongst the fans and Julie, but according to Evel Dick in the House Calls episode I watched, Natalie was in complete denial about her time in the house shortly after eviction, and had there been a roomful of fans staring at her, let’s just say I don’t know if they would have been able to air the comments on CBS.
This is probably the only news we’ll have until the release of the names of this year’s houseguests. And in the next week or so, if you walk into your neighborhood Hooters, and your favorite waitress isn’t there, check cbs.com, and most likely you’ll see her smiling mug among the faces of the new cast.

13 hampsters? or houseguests?
Same difference. In the Big Brother community of viewers it’s common practice to refer to the houseguests as hamsters, because we watching them as if they’re behind the glass.
