Dave Foley - Lost and Found
I’ve always loved Dave Foley. He has what should be a patented calm, deadpan humor that always seems so unique. It’s just hard to keep up with where he is since the end of Newsradio. He’s had the two big gigs, Newsradio, and The Kids In the Hall prior to that, and I also caught him in Monkeybone with Brendan Fraser, but where else has he been?
A quick check of imdb.com, and it turns out he’s been all over the place with small roles and guest-starring roles in movies and on TV. The problem is, with these types of roles, it’s just hard to keep track of him, unless you check his page regularly on imdb.
The wait is over, though, as we’ll all get a chance to see him this Sunday in a guest-starring role in the new USA series In Plain Sight. Mary McCormack stars as a U.S. Marshall assigned to watch over those in the witness protection program. In Sunday night’s episode, Trojan Horst, Foley stars as a witness on the way to protection, and he just doesn’t make it too easy on her.
I, for one, will be watching, having caught an earlier episode of In Plain Sight. The lead character, Mary Shannon, tends to have the same deadpan humor as Foley, and a certain forcefulness to her, as would be expected from a U.S. Marshall, so she and Foley together ought to make for quite an interesting mix.
For anyone missing Christian de la Fuente since the end of the last season of Dancing With the Stars, he has a minor role on the show as her minor-league baseball-playing boyfriend. Leslie Ann Warren is another actor I haven’t seen in awhile, and she pops up on the show as Mary’s mother.
